{"id":1539,"date":"2024-05-01T09:44:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-01T07:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nanosmartlab.cnr.it\/?p=1539"},"modified":"2025-05-26T10:11:51","modified_gmt":"2025-05-26T08:11:51","slug":"sers-cov-project-results-the-european-nights-of-researchers-in-naples-a-scienz-into-street","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nanosmartlab.cnr.it\/?p=1539","title":{"rendered":"Sers-Cov Project Results @The European Nights of Researchers in Naples \u201c\u2019A scienz int\u2019o Street\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>SERS-Cov<\/strong> project \u2014 <em>&#8220;Advanced Nanobiosensing Platforms for Point-of-Care (POC) Diagnostics and Surveillance&#8221;<\/em> \u2014 officially concluded on <strong>September 30th<\/strong>, marking a significant milestone in the development of innovative biosensing technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Led by <strong>Dr. Lucia Petti<\/strong> (ISASI-CNR) and carried out in close collaboration with <strong>Dr. Giovanna Fusco<\/strong>, Director of the Virology Unit at the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Southern Italy, the project was funded by the <strong>POR CAMPANIA FESR 2014\u20132020<\/strong> program (CUP B53C22003100002).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This afternoon, some of the final outcomes of the project were presented by <strong>Dr. Amalia D\u2019Avino<\/strong> during the <strong>European Researchers&#8217; Night<\/strong> in <strong>Piazza del Ges\u00f9, Naples<\/strong>, highlighting the team\u2019s latest advances in biophotonic and bioplasmonic technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the heart of this project is the ambition to create a rapid, reliable, and highly sensitive method for detecting <strong>SARS-CoV-2<\/strong> in complex biological matrices. Two parallel nanofabrication approaches were developed to build cutting-edge nano-structured recognition systems:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Top-down<\/strong> engineered metasurfaces, called <em>HyperMeta molecules<\/em>, fabricated using <strong>electron beam lithography<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bottom-up<\/strong> strategies using <strong>self-assembled monolayers<\/strong> of gold nanoparticles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both platforms were designed to detect the virus with high specificity and efficiency, advancing the frontier of <strong>Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS)<\/strong> biosensing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The team\u2019s most recent results have been submitted to the <strong>special issue \u201cHigh-Efficiency Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering Biosensing\u201d<\/strong> in the journal <em>Biosensors<\/em>, showcasing the potential of these nanotechnologies for real-world diagnostic applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em>This project exemplifies how multidisciplinary research \u2014 combining physics, engineering, virology, and nanotechnology \u2014 can produce practical tools for global health challenges. -B.G-<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The SERS-Cov project \u2014 &#8220;Advanced Nanobiosensing Platforms for Point-of-Care (POC) Diagnostics and Surveillance&#8221; [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":1562,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_themeisle_gutenberg_block_has_review":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[11],"tags":[10],"class_list":["post-1539","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.9 -
