{"id":1563,"date":"2024-09-21T10:14:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-21T08:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nanosmartlab.cnr.it\/?p=1563"},"modified":"2025-05-26T10:20:51","modified_gmt":"2025-05-26T08:20:51","slug":"sensostec-project-resultsthe-european-nights-of-researchers-in-naples","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nanosmartlab.cnr.it\/?p=1563","title":{"rendered":"SENSOSTEC Project Results@The European Nights of Researchers in Naples"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>PRIN project \u201cSENSOSTEC\u201d<\/strong> \u2014 <em>Development of a Plasmonic Nanobiosensor for the Rapid Diagnosis of Shiga Toxin-Producing E. coli Infections at the Point of Care<\/em> \u2014 is a groundbreaking initiative coordinated by <strong>Dr. Lucia Petti<\/strong> (ISASI-CNR), in close collaboration with <strong>Prof. Brigotti<\/strong> from the Department of Specialized, Diagnostic and Experimental Medicine at the <strong>University of Bologna<\/strong>, and <strong>Dr. Stefano Morabito<\/strong>, Director of the <strong>European Reference Laboratory for <em>E. coli<\/em><\/strong> at <strong>ISS<\/strong>, along with their dedicated research teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is funded through <strong>NextGenerationEU<\/strong> (CUP B53C22003100002) and aims to revolutionize the detection of <strong>Shiga toxin (Stx)<\/strong> \u2014 a potent biological agent produced by <em>Escherichia coli<\/em> strains, responsible for severe gastrointestinal infections and complications such as <strong>hemolytic uremic syndrome<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This afternoon, some of the project\u2019s exciting advancements will be presented by <strong>Dr. Alessia Milano<\/strong> and <strong>Dr. Bryan Guilcapi<\/strong> at the <strong>European Researchers&#8217;
