On May 29th, 2025, our external consultant and biotechnologist, Dr. Ivan Salvatore Perrotta, took part in the Innovation Village 2025 at Villa Doria d’Angri in Naples — an important event dedicated to cutting-edge technologies and collaborative innovation. During the event, Dr. Perrotta presented our most recent advancements within the EMDAS project (Environment Mobile Data Acquisition System), an innovative initiative developed by Opus Automazione S.p.A. and Sautech S.r.l. The project aims to develop an advanced biosensor system for the detection of pathogens in two critical areas: water (including wastewater, water basins, aquaculture, bathing areas, and water used for irrigation or livestock) and livestock-derived materials used in food production, especially milk and dairy intermediates. Our contribution focused on the latest results obtained through our bottom-up sensor platforms for the detection of pathogenic agents, highlighting their potential for rapid, sensitive, and field-deployable diagnostics. Participation in Innovation Village 2025 offered an excellent platform to share our progress, exchange ideas, and foster new collaborations in the field of biosensing and environmental safety.
